Did I push myself out of my comfort zone?’ Interior designer Omar Bhatti considers this question about the revamp of his own industrial-meets-chic home and replies: ‘It’s difficult to say, as this is what I do for a living and I’m always looking to push boundaries. Continuing our expansion in commercial interiors, branding company Be-engaged contacted us to design their new HQ in London Fields. The main aim of the project was to create designated areas for their staff to work individually as well as a team. The overall design aesthetic is a fusion of Scandinavian inspired design, raw warehouse styles mixed with eclectic touches to create a fresh look unique to their brand and young attitude.

These most recent clients of ours in Woodford were a lovely family who asked us to renovate and refresh the basement of their detached 5-bedroom into an additional living and entertainment space. The space works cohesively and multi functionally as our clients wanted to incorporate a kitchen, living and gym space whilst accomplishing a consistent design throughout. The clients also wanted the space to have an indoor-outdoor feel to it with large sliding doors, allowing them to indulge through the warm summer months. We replaced the old flooring with a tasteful new limewash chevron flooring throughout and a fresh sophisticated colour palette. We introduced a beautiful warm grey with lavender undertones from Lick Paint as the general wall paint and a dazzling revival of terracotta with Elle Decors cushions craze as a feature paint. Alongside charmingly bold accent furnishings and a slight contrast of raw materials and soft textures.
